My guest this week is a good friend of mine, Scott Hall. Scott is the foods teacher at Maskwacis high school here in Alberta. Maskwacis, recently renamed from Hobbema, is an indigenous reservation in central Alberta. It's like most reserves here in Canada. Underfunded and rife with poverty. I’m not going to get deep into this subject, because frankly, I don’t know enough about it, and that’s why I have guests. To explain these things to me.
Scott runs a foods program out at the High School there that meets and exceeds all of the student’s nutritional needs and even feeds the other schools on a daily basis. It’s a food model that all of our children could benefit from, and he wants to bring it to public schools everywhere. But I guess you’re not paying to hear me ramble on and on about things I’m barely informed on, so I’m going to let Scott tell his story. Thank you, once again, for tuning in folks, it means the world to me.
